FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Why do I need to complete an approved coaching program?
A: Delighted Coaching Academy has built in methods to evaluate coaching programs. We review and evaluate that core competencies are being met in these programs. When we approve a program we are validating the programs viability, as well as the ability to teach and train coaches above and beyond theory into practicality. This requirement is set in place to ensure that you are receiving proper training and guidelines for best coaching practices. This improves your ability to coach and gives you credibility for your coaching experience and practice.
Q: What if the program I have completed is not on your approved programs list?
A: If your program is not on our approved list, you can submit an evaluation request. This request is at no charge to your institution, however all evaluations may not be approved. The institution must meet approval guidelines to qualify. If they meet partial requirements, we will recommend that they add additional curricula to their program or recommend additional training to meet your pre-training requirements. All programs who wish to be on our approved list can submit a request in writing to:

Q: What if I have no formal training?
A: We recommend that you review our approved list of programs and reach out to them to sign up for formal training. This is the first step to certification.
Q: Why should I get certification?
A: Certification provides credibility, accountability, and ensures you are receiving the best training to become an expert in your field.
Q: How do I know if this certification is right for me?
A: There are many types of certification on the market for career coaches. Delighted Coaching Academy offers affordable certification and membership is simple. You are able to gain valuable resources, connect with other coaches in the community, and stay up-to-date on current trends. Certification and membership go hand in hand. All certified coaches who maintain valid certification remain members of Delighted Coaching Academy.
Q: Do I need Coaching Certification to become a member?
A: No. You can join Delighted Coaching Academy membership for a low fee. Membership will continue to give you access to shared networks, resources, and community partnerships.
Q: How many practical hours are required?
A: Practical hours vary dependent upon your level of education and experience. We have four levels of practical hour requirements. Based on your level of completion your certificate will be approved as Level I, Level II, Level III, Level IV - certification.
Level 1 - 120 Logged Practical Hours
Level 2 - 240 Logged Practical Hours
Level 3 - 360 Logged practical Hours
Level 4 - 500 Logged Practical Hours
(Hours can be combination of Barter/Paid/Classroom Training requirements, all count towards minimum requirements)

Q: Why is there an application fee?

Q: Why do I need to be an active member to maintain my certification?
A: Active Membership provides you access to updates in the coaching industry, network opportunities with other coaches, and ongoing CE opportunities.
Q: Are there different levels of certification?
A: Yes, there are four different levels of certification. All levels require minimum coaching education through an approved program and levels vary based on logged practical coaching hours. See above for practical coaching hours required.
Your certificate will clearly distinguish the level of certification in which you qualify.
Q: Can I cancel my membership?
Certified Members - Membership can be cancelled at any time in increments of 1 year for those who are under certification. Your membership automatically expires with certification expiration. Members are not guaranteed certification, however certification guarantees membership. If you have paid for certification you are automatically entered into membership upon certification approval. Cancelation of membership must be done prior to the next annual cycle.
Non-Certified Members can cancel at any time. However you must cancel in writing to our membership team. If you are on a monthly membership your membership cancellation will be effective the following month of membership, as long as you have requested cancellation within 2 weeks of your next membership deduction.
Q: What are CE's?
A: CE's are continued education credits. Delighted Coaching Academy not only helps develop programs for colleges and training centers, we also offer continued education. Continued education ensures that you are staying up-to-date with current current trends, ethical guidelines and laws, and staying active in your coaching experience. Active members have access to limited free CE's every year.
